Current Projects and Events
The Center has recently finalized research on ways of implementing Senate Bill 375, landmark legislation which aims to help achieve California’s greenhouse gas reduction objectives by promoting more efficient land use and development patterns. The final products of this work will be posted on this website and available for free downloading, by October 30th. This will include a full report and a Policy Brief highlighting research findings and recommendations.
The Center also sponsored a symposium with public officials, and other leaders late last year, focusing on the land use implications of California’s High Speed Rail Project. This will be held in early November, 2009.
Finally, the center has provided input to the governor's strategic growth council on criteria to be used in giving out grants to local and regional agencies.
